Senior Tax Compliance Specialist

About Euc

We’re making good health last a lifetime

More than 1 billion people globally live with obesity — a major leading indicator of many preventable chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

Eucalyptus (or 'Euc' for short) is the company behind Juniper, one of the world’s largest weight management programs combining GLP-1 medication with a tailored nutrition and exercise programme, supported by our multidisciplinary care team. It is also behind a growing family of digital healthcare clinics (Pilot, Kin, Software, Compound) across men’s health and well-being, fertility, skincare, and preventative health. These clinics create one ecosystem designed to make good health last a lifetime. 🌿

Our published clinical research on Juniper demonstrates that patients in our program are 4x as likely to lose significant weight through their course of treatment. For our other clinics, we apply the same evidence-based philosophy of combining medical science, personalised care, and behavioural insights to improve patient outcomes.

Since launching, we’ve grown fast to support millions of patients. In the last 12 months…

  • Globally, grew revenue by >130% YoY, while reducing cash burned by 90% YoY, with over $100M USD raised from global investors such as BOND, NewView, Blackbird and Airtree (early backers of companies like Canva, Stripe and AirBnb)
  • Grew to over 100,000 monthly active patients globally across our weight management program
  • Grew from 4,000 to ~40,000 patients in the UK, and received selective NICE endorsement to provide service to the NHS
  • Tailored our offering to over 5,000 patients in Germany and Japan, with a goal to extend our patient base to over 30,000 patients across both markets in 2025

What’s next?

Our goal for the next 3 years is to be supporting 1 million patients globally - to live better for longer - by launching into new conditions, demographics and geographies as we move towards our vision of creating a preventative healthcare ecosystem.

We’re going to build the world’s largest international digital healthcare company. This will be really hard to do, but very rewarding and possibly, the adventure of a lifetime with some of the best operators you will ever work with.If that gets you excited, let’s talk.

About the Role (What You'll Be Doing)

We're looking for an Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll assist in managing our indirect tax obligations across the globe, ensuring we comply with local tax regulations across our 7 jurisdictions. You will be a key player in managing our processes, conducting critical tax research, and supporting business operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience in a similar role and will be highly proficient with NetSuite.

  • Indirect Tax Compliance & Advisory

    • Prepare and review indirect tax returns with the support of the Tax Manager and external tax advisors.
    • Maintain monthly indirect tax reconciliations during the month-end process.
    • Support research into the indirect tax treatment of global transactions, value chain, and new business initiatives.
    • Simplify our indirect compliance obligations, for example: manage GST/VAT grouping projects, and de-registering entities for GST/VAT where required.
    • Help with maintaining indirect tax governance and improving compliance controls.
    • Assist the Tax Manager with global direct tax compliance and other tax advisory projects outside of indirect tax.
  • Finance, Controls & Integration
    • Support the indirect tax aspects of our global finance policies and internal controls.
    • Collaborate with finance, analytics and commercial teams to provide tax guidance and forecasts.
    • Assist with the tax and controls-related integration of new business units in different countries.
  • Project & Process Improvement
    • Participate in global tax-related projects aimed at improving efficiency and compliance.
    • Contribute to data analysis and process mapping to identify and solve indirect tax issues.
  • Strategic Business Partnering
    • Work with internal stakeholders to gather information and provide support for global business decisions.
    • Develop a foundational understanding of how commercial decisions impact tax outcomes.
  • Commitment to Quality
    • Adhere to the highest standards of quality in all tax-related tasks.
    • Contribute to initiatives that enhance our global compliance posture.

About You (Who You Are)

  • You have 3-5+ years of experience in indirect tax, either in a large corporate setting or an accounting firm.
  • You have foundational knowledge of key indirect taxes, such as VAT and GST. Detailed knowledge or specific jurisdictional indirect tax experience is not required in this role.
  • You have keen interest and experience in process improvement.
  • You are experienced with ERP systems (in particular, NetSuite).
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • You have excellent communication and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • You have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
