Dr Alexandra Murphy
Dr Alexandra Murphy graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medical Science. She entered the Cardiology Advanced Training program at the Austin Hospital following which she became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Alex has completed advanced fellowships in cardiac imaging, and imaging for structural intervention and currently practices at the Victorian Heart Hospital, Austin Health, Warringal Private Hospital and Epworth Richmond.
Dr Murphy also specialises in the cardiac management of patients with cancer and is the lead physician in the Cardio-Haematology clinic at the Austin Hospital and the Cardio- Oncology service at the Victorian Heart Hospital. Her PhD thesis “Optimising Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients with Cancer” was supported by scholarships from the National Heart Foundation, National Health and Medical Research Council, the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and Meadownick Research Foundation. Following this Dr Murphy has completed Post-Doctoral Fellowships with the National Heart Foundation and at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City as a Fulbright Scholar.
